VerSe Innovation- a language technology company that owns Josh and Dailyhunt, has announced the purchase of Vebbler- a video and photo sharing application for an undisclosed sum. Notably, this marks VerSe’s second acquisition in a span of two weeks. In February 2021, VerSe Innovation purchased Cognirel Technologies – an AI startup.
Through the recent acquisition of Vebbler, the Indian technology platform has advanced its plans to develop the largest digital media network that meets the wide content needs of several consumers through technology.
In a statement by Vebbler, its camera and community will offer Josh a strong differentiator in the market and provide its wide user base additional opportunities to harness India’s diverse talent and creativity.
According to Virendra Gupta, Founder of VerSe Innovation, the combination of Vebbler’s products along with the company’s platform will encourage them to drive innovation with respect to social engagement and camera and also play a significant role in capturing the timeshare, mindshare, and profit share of the local language users.
Umang Bedi, the Co-Founder of VerSe, mentioned that the company will continue to develop and adopt powerful tools and technologies that extend products that are customer-oriented along with being content-forward.
For the record, in the last three months, the firm has attracted more than USD 200 million in terms of investments from leading investors like Glade Brook Capital Partners, Qatar Investment Authority, the prominent wealth fund of the State of Qatar along with Microsoft, AlphaWave, and Google.
Established in the year 2013, Vebbler allows users to join groups known as ‘clubs’ and share videos and photos spanning different interests like travel, photography, entertainment, and fashion.
With more than 100 categories, users can develop content with the help of Vebbler’s camera that comes with creation tools like AI-powered neural-art filters, stickers, effects, drawing tools, GIFs, and fonts coupled with its patented video processing and editing technology.
