TCS to recruit around 35,000 candidates in the second half of 2021

  • The company has hired 43,000 freshers in the first half of 2021
  • The IT behemoth registered an attrition rate of 11.9% in July-September

Global IT giant, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is all set to hire around 35,000 individuals in the second half of the current fiscal year, implying that the behemoth will recruit approximately 78,000 fresh graduates for the full financial year.

Mr. Milind Lakkad, TCS' Chief HR Officer, says that high attrition levels are likely to persist in the next two to three quarters, as the TCS attrition rate has recently increased to 11.2 percent.

Owing to higher attrition, the organization may have to raise its recruiting rate a little more than it typically does, claims Mr. Lakkad.

In more ways than one, this has been a rewarding quarter for TCS. In the past six months, TCS hired a record amount of 43,000 new graduates. The firm was able to expedite this thanks to its Shift-Left training method, he said.

In the second part of the fiscal year, TCS aims to hire more than 35,000 graduates. If the firm fulfills this objectives, it will be able to employ a total of 78,000 people in the near future.

Investing ahead of time in creating the talent pipeline has helped the firm overcome supply-side issues and fulfill its clients' growth and transformation program execution timeframes.

In addition, TCS has kept employee satisfaction levels high by concentrating on organic talent development and integrating learning with careers, says Mr. Lakkad.
