MicroPort CRM, a firm that manufactures, develops, and markets products for the analysis, treatment & management of heart rhythm disorders and heart failures, has recently received an approval from the PMDA Japanese regulation agency for its newest range of implantable peacemakers Alizea.

These devices are furnished with Bluetooth technology for updated remote monitoring when coupled with MicroPort CRM's SmartView Connect home monitor, already approved in Japan.

Alizea pacemakers permit cardiologists to monitor devices remotely. The SmartView Connect home monitor is intended to be placed at the bedside of the patient to allow the transmission of detailed reports regularly to the cardiologist on the functioning of the pacing system. This is expected to potentially eliminate the requirement of visiting patients to hospitals for a simple routine checkup, hence lowering the weight on the healthcare system.

SmartView Connect home monitor and Alizea pacemakers work together to offer the cardiologist timely alerts and transmissions generated by patients, when there are any symptoms, resulting in more efficient and quicker patient's care.

Noboru Shimizu, VP of MicroPort CRM Sales Japan, commented that around 64,000 patients are implanted with a pacemaker every year in Japan. Apart from this, owing to the current difficulties that have arisen due to the current health crisis, there is a budding need to monitor patients without making them travel remotely.

Shimizu mentioned that the firm is pleased by the introduction of Alizea pacemakers and its SmartView Connect monitor as it positions them to be the best in cardiac pacing in the Japanese market. He further said that the team believes that this advancement will empower them to fortify their presence in Japan.

Benoît Clinchamps, President of MicroPort CRM, noted that the company had launched Alizea successfully in Europe in 2021, and Japan is the second region that will benefit from its unconventional technological functions.

Moreover, as a part of its mission of improving the patients' lives and supporting healthcare professionals, MicroPort CRM will continue to integrate Alizea and SmartView Connect worldwide.
