The interprofession of Beaujolais wines met this Thursday, January 28th, for a general assembly in Villefranche-sur-Saône. During this meeting, Dominique Piron (President since 2016) passed the torch on to Daniel Bulliat. The Beaujeu winemaker is supported by Philippe Bardet, director of the Maison Jean-Loron (headquarters in Pontanevaux in Saône-et-Loire). According to the statutes of Inter Beaujolais, which is committed to the promotion of Beaujolais wines worldwide, they will switch roles in two years.
Ecological change and economic development
The new president has announced that his mandate will build on that of Dominique Piron, the results of which he regards as 'very positive'. He mentioned three areas of work: environmental change, building competitive companies, and business development. In addition, the Grange Charton competence center in Régnié-Durette with its incubator for wine companies will be set up this year. He also expects Dominique Piron to pursue the case.
The latter expressed satisfaction that it is 'a bad form to criticize Beaujolais' today. 'We have to convert the test,' he told the new leading duo.
